Rpl Ready Course
What is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process aimed at recognising the skills a person has already obtained so that it can count toward their qualification. For resin flooring, this typically includes the experience applicators have gathered on the job, and/or the training they have done with suppliers.
A simple diagram has been included below to show you how it works. It can change slightly between different providers, but it usually starts off with a self-evaluation step for the applicator to nominate the skills they already have, followed by interviews, practical demonstrations and submissions of evidence to prove competency in these areas.
Up to 100% of a qualification can be awarded through RPL, which saves applicators the extra cost, time and effort of going through the full training.
Why do I need the RPL Ready Course?
Applying for RPL is a great way to save time and money getting qualified, however it can be a difficult process if you don’t know what to expect.
The goal of this course is to give applicators a taste of how the real thing works so they can decide if RPL is the right option for them. It does this by focusing on two key areas:
1) Interview questions – A big part of having your skills recognised is being able to answer questions on all aspects of resin flooring. Through the RPL Ready Course you’ll gain a good grasp of the type of questions you could be asked in an interview, and your answers will be saved so they may contribute to any RPL assessment in the future.
2) Evidence submissions – Knowing your stuff is important, but you’ll also have to prove you’ve applied this knowledge in the real world. With the RPL Ready Course, you can submit the specific types of work evidence asked for by the qualification and once again have it all passed on to an assessor when you apply for RPL.
